Startups and those interested in the startup community in Boca Raton, this is a special local event you should consider attending! Welcome to StartupPOP’s 22nd Tech Startup Pitch Event with Networking and Demo Day! The first 30 attendees for this event are free.

This event is $15 per person online on StartupPOP.com. On Meetup and Eventbrite this event is $20. At the door, the event is $25. If you are interested in DEMO’ing your tech at one of our tables during the event, buying a sponsor table, please see DEMO DAY below. It is going to be $99 for a half table and $199 for a full table. Members get a 30% discount on buying tables, and 10% off any future event.
WHO: Investors, Entrepreneurs, Start-Ups, Tech Community, Angel Investors, Tech Mentors, Venture Capital EXECs, MGRs, SPONSORS (see below).
WHAT: A Tech Startup Pitch Event. Our intention is to assist local tech start-ups to pitch their tech product or service. A tech start-up can be looking for a variety of things like seed capital, tech partners, business partners, advisers, mentors or business leads. Attendees are welcome to stay and network after-words. We are going to have several speakers to be announced prior to the pitch event.
DEMO DAY: This is a great opportunity for both companies pitching and for companies that have pitched before to set up your tech, product, service on a table so you can meet directly with INVESTORS, CUSTOMERS and interested parties.

WHEN: November 21st (Tuesday), 6 PM to 9:00 PM. The Demo Day starts as early as 5:00pm. The networking and pitch event starts at 6pm. If you are setting up a DEMO DAY table, please come as early as 5pm.

THE FORMAT: Between 5 and 10 local tech start-ups will be given up to 3 minutes (up to 4 page pitch deck) to pitch their concept or product/service. There is networking before and after the event. Pitching companies can provide a short, no more than 4 pages of power point or PDFs, which we will display on a screen. There will be a panel of successful entrepreneurs and investors who will be at the event. This panel will have a few moments to ask a few questions following each pitch.
PITCH DECK REQUIREMENT: We need to review either your pitch deck or executive summary to be chosen to pitch. We are requiring participants to fill out a 1 to 4 page mini pitch deck. This mini pitch deck will be used for both pitching and for interested investors. This is required! Our limit is 4 pages! Remember this is a 3 minute pitch. The pitch deck must be landscape and a PDF file. You can go to this link here to review an example pitch deck. Please give us a couple days to respond if you are interested in pitching.
MEMBERSHIP IN STARTUPPOP NOW REQUIRED TO PITCH: While we love running these events, where over 200 startups have pitched, our business needs to be sustained with various sources of income. That means we are a for profit business and not a non-profit. StartupPOP has decided to add a new requirement to pitch. In order to pitch, you need to be a member of StartupPOP.com. There are two membership/subscription choices, $59 for 6 months or $79 for 12 months.
- 30% discount on buying a table or admission at current and future StartupPOP Events.
- 10% discount on future events (or the current event if you sign up for membership first)
- Ability to upload and manage min pitch deck, main pitch deck, business plan, pro forma and other docs for investors, so investors can easily get your extended set of documents for review. This will save both you time and us time and energy in getting your pitch deck ready. It will allow you to make last minute changes to any of your docs if you are logged on.
- We will be providing an external startup profile web page that gets your startup company indexed on Google Search, that provides your startup text/content and a back-link to your website which is great for SEO. This is so important for getting found on the web, and getting a link back to your business.
- We will be listing your social media and a link to signing up to get on your email list, if you have one, through your profile page. Once again this is important for your startup customer funnel, whether we are talking investors or beta customers. Either way, this is all great stuff for startups.
- We will be listing your business as a member of StartupPOP on the home page and other places throughout Startuppop.com, and will show your startup now as a member and not just a pitch company. That means that you will be able to find your company listed long after we run this event.
- Most important value of all, is helping the tech startup community by helping to support our business so we can continue to run Tech Startup Pitch Events!
- Members of StartupPOP will get additional social media mentions in Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Medium, Meetup, Eventbrite and other media for PR.Here is a link to join as a member!
The start-up companies pitching have up to 3 minutes to answer 5 common questions about their business:
What is their product/service?
What is their business model?
Size of the Market they serve?
How do they get to market or get traction?
What are they here looking for? Capital, Partners, Advisers, etc..
PANEL MEMBERS: We typically have a mix of investors, and startup experts sit on our panel. Each event may have a different set of experts. Potential Advisers, Mentors and Audience members will be asked to approach start-ups of interest after the event. We will list the companies which will pitch as we approach the pitch date.
